As a young girl, perhaps around the age of 12, a series of simultaneous events occurred. My family converted a church into a “house”, I first heard about Jesus and Christianity through a grade-school friend, and I read a book about Native American healers and holy people.
All of these events culminated into questions around why there are so many truths, why are some people holy and others not, and why didn’t I know who God was? I felt that I did know God, but it wasn't quite remembered and certainly wasn't fitting into the ideas I was being introduced to. I am a sinner...what?
This is not a story about a personality or persona, but rather of the pathless path of the seeker of truth, and a finder of what was never hidden. As Rumi so eloquently wrote, “What you seek is seeking you.” And one fine moment, in the now of eternity, we all realize what we have been all along. It is meant for all of us. No one is more special than anyone else, but all are special as unique expressions of God in form. All hold within them the light that created the universes, and once seen through the eyes of awareness housed in the heart, one can do nothing but become the embodiment of that light. But one must drop the search entirely. Is this a paradox or what? Sure is!
The personality is built through the concept of time and space. It is an "adding on" if you will, of concepts, ideas, emotions, and conditioning based on our past. It appears that very specific and individual experiences are happening and we "grow" by adjusting our individual position to make sure "that" doesn't ever happen again! When we see through the eyes of pure awareness, the conditioned personality falls away. This doesn't mean we become a useless blob of bliss. It means that just as each beautiful and perfect flower has its own design, so does each human being. A unique expression of God into form. Look around! All things in form have it. This unique expression doesn't come from a conditioned consciousness. It's truly beautiful. I never knew who I was until now, and the discovery deepens all the time!
The “process” of unveiling our true nature has been pointed to for centuries by all the great masters of history. And within each of them, a unique voice all their own has expressed through words and presence what the seeker needs to hear. But this is only temporary. No one can take the step into your own Divinity for you. It must be done alone, because that is where true Peace, Love, Joy, Wisdom, and Power live. But we can help each other, as the voice of the Divine in each form. Essentially we speak to ourselves and help ourselves. There is no other "person". Only the One consciousness. A unique voice expressing from the void that is true fullness, as a beautiful adornment of freedom, that you already are everything you could imagine and beyond. So, rather than the fearful misconceptions around being “nobody”, we can embrace together, the overwhelming peace and joy of being everything. Of being home.
